The Kia Carnival (not-a-minivan) is receiving a mid-cycle refresh to styling and technology for the 2025 model year. The upgrades will include a hybrid powertrain option powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine, 6-speed automatic transmission, and 54 kW electric motor. Total system output will be 242 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque.
The new Carnival HEV will be available in four of the Carnival’s five trim levels and will come exclusively with 17-inch aerodynamic wheels. Fuel economy expectations have not been released yet, but the new Carnival HEV is likely to have significantly higher MPG ratings, especially in city driving, when compared to the standard internal combustion-only design.
The standard 3.5-liter V6 and eight-speed automatic transmission for the non-hybrid will remain as the default option for the 2025 Kia Carnival.
