Acura’s first all-electric vehicle model is the ZDX and its ZDX Type S sports variant. The vehicle is expected for the 2024 model year and will be rated at about 325 miles of range as a small crossover-SUV. The vehicle has been co-developed with General Motors.
The Acura ZDX A-Spec will be offered in both rear-wheel drive(single motor) and all-wheel drive (dual motor) configurations. The A-Spec model will produce about 340 horsepower while the Type S will produce around 500. The Type S will also include a height-adjustable air suspension, performance-tuned adaptive suspension dampers, and Brembo-sourced braking.
Both ZDX models will be DC Fast Charging capable at rates up to 190 kW. The 102 kWh battery pack on the ZDX A-Spec can gain 81 miles of range in about 10 minutes of fast charging.
The Acura ZDX’s expected starting price is in the $60,000 range. The Type S model will be about $10,000 more and will be the “best performing Acura SUV ever,” according to the company’s release.
Presales for the ZDX will begin later this year with deliveries beginning in early 2024.
