Battery and now vehicle manufacturer BYD, based in China, has produced five million new energy vehicles. Thirteen years after beginning its automotive concern, BYD reached one million and then, less than three years later, reached five million. Most sales are in China.
BYD has been actively expanding its global presence, introducing electrified vehicles in the public transit sectors of more than 70 countries and 400 cities around the world. The BYD ATTO 3 car is sold in 54 countries worldwide and is a best-seller in several, including Thailand, Israel, and Singapore. New factories in Brazil will bring BYD models to South and Central America.
