Fiat will auction three bespoke 500e electric vehicles at Art Basel Miami Beach 2023. Proceeds from the auction will benefit an unnamed environmental non-profit. The beneficiary will not be named until after the auction, which may dampen some interest. Fiat joins other brands such as Armani, Bvlgari, and Kartell in designing the special 500e models.
“It is rare for an automaker to combine efforts with the most iconic Italian brands of three different sectors, fashion design, furniture design and luxury, to create something truly unique that combines art with an earth-friendly message, making the cars available through auction is even more unusual. These three special builds set the stage for FIAT’s sustainable mission and create momentum as we approach the arrival of the all-electric Fiat 500e in North America.” –Olivier Francois, CEO of FIAT and global chief marketing officer of Stellantis
The auction is part of Fiat’s building momentum towards the launch of the new Fiat 500e, which has used several youthful buzzwords as it aims towards a younger audience for the car. The auction itself will be conducted by Simon de Pury during Art Basel Miami Beach 2023 on December 7.
“I am very excited to conduct the auction of the three unique Fiat 500 cars. They are stunning and beautiful works of art on wheels. It is wonderful that the proceeds of the auction will entirely go to environmental work.” –Simon de Pury.
