GMC Unveils 2026 Hummer EV With King Crab Mode

Power output updates put the new Carbon Fiber Edition Pickup version of the Hummer EV at 1,160 horsepower and 13,000 pound-feet of torque. In addition, new over-the-air (OTA) updates for all 2022-2025 Hummer EV models will add the new King Crab Mode for off-road four-wheel steering.

  • King Crab Mode: A major upgrade to the rear-steer system, improving off-road maneuverability. Rear wheels turn faster than front for enhanced agility. Standard on 2X and 3X trims.
    • OTA rollout: Available to 2022–2025 HUMMER EVs via an over-the-air update.
  • Acceleration: The Carbon Fiber Edition Pickup (3X trim) does 0–60 mph in 2.8 seconds, thanks to software and hardware enhancements.
  • Bidirectional Charging:
    • Vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-home (V2H) power sharing capabilities debut for 2026.

Tech Upgrades

  • Super Cruise Enhancements:
    • Google Maps integration for lane guidance.
    • New hands-on features for lane centering and adaptive cruise.
    • Hands-free driving auto-engages on Super Cruise roads.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control: Now adjusts automatically to posted speed limits.

  • Power: 1,160 horsepower and 13,000 lb-ft of torque in the 3X Pickup, making it the most powerful in its class.
