Hyundai Motors has created a video as part of a campaign to prove the safety and efficacy of self-driving robotaxi vehicles. Using the Ioniq 5 Robotaxi, Hyundai had a certified Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles examiner, grade the vehicle in a standardized, real-world, public-level driving test. A test much like the testing required of any driver seeking a motor vehicle operation license in most of the United States.
The video shows the Robotaxi undergoing the test while telling the story of a potential taxi client, Pearl Outlaw, a disabled woman who cannot drive a vehicle for herself.
