Hyundai Unveils Next-Gen Hybrid System

Hyundai Motor Group has unveiled its next-generation hybrid system, aiming to set new standards in power and efficiency across a broad range of vehicle classes. This advanced system integrates a new transmission featuring two electric motors (P1 and P2) that work in tandem with internal combustion engines. The P1 motor manages engine starting and battery charging, while the P2 motor handles propulsion and regenerative braking. This configuration enhances fuel efficiency by up to 45% and increases power output by 19% compared to similar internal combustion engine models.

The system debuts with a 2.5-liter turbo hybrid engine in the new Hyundai PALISADE, delivering 334 PS and 460 Nm of torque. Additionally, a 1.6-liter turbo hybrid variant will be available, offering improved fuel economy and torque. Hyundai plans to expand this hybrid technology across various vehicle sizes, from compact to luxury models.

Key features include advanced electrification technologies such as Stay Mode, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, Smart Regenerative Braking, and Electric All-Wheel Drive (e-AWD). These enhancements aim to provide a refined driving experience and greater versatility.
