Jeep has unveiled a new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) SUV called the Yuntu Concept at the Shanghai Auto Show. The SUV being the fastest-growing segment in China and Jeep having begun to heavily expand in that market, the concept SUV seems a good fit.
Jeep didn’t give much information on the Yuntu, with only vague details such as a total range of 65 km (40.4 miles) in all-electric driving for the plug-in and wireless charging as an option. The Yuntu even has an on-board drone for scouting the road ahead.
Jeep currently sells the Renegade, Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, Wrangler, and Wrangler Unlimited in China.
