LA Auto Show Survey Shows Californians Bullish on EVs

In a surprise that came to no one, survey results published during the Los Angeles Auto Show (aka AutoMobility LA) shows that California buyers are pretty bullish on electric vehicles. The survey was conducted by polling previous attendees of the LA show.

The results show that about 65 percent of consumers are considering an EV purchase with 47 percent being more likely to purchase thanks to the addition of 17 carmakers to the Tesla Supercharging network. About 72 percent of current EV owners have higher vehicle satisfaction than they did with their previous internal combustion purchases.

And, in what is the least surprising of all of the results, 62 percent of owners were influenced in their purchase by California’s EV rebates, tax credits, or incentives. Which is, in a word, the explanation for the difference in California responses and national responses to electric vehicle surveys.
