GM Defense Unveils “Next Gen” Tactical Vehicle
GM Defense has unveiled a new tactical vehicle prototype, called “Next Gen,” at the annual Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA). The vehicle combines a Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD ZR2 pickup, a turbodiesel engine, a 12-module battery pack, and two drive motors. The vehicle is capable of operating on battery power and of providing power for advanced high-energy equipment.

GM To Contribute $625M To New JV With Lithium Americas
General Motors will contribute a combined $625 million to Lithium Americas’ Thacker Pass lithium mining project in northern Nevada. The joint venture will combine with a Department of Energy loan. Thacker Pass is expected to begin development in 2025.

Boston Dynamics, Toyota Partner on Humanoid Robot Development
Boston Dynamics and Toyota Research Institute have partnered in the development of general purpose humanoid robots research. The combination brings TRI’s Large Behavior Models from AI research with BD’s Atlas robot.
