Automobili Pininfarina, the legendary Italian coachbuilder, has unveiled a new Barchetta, the B95. Aiming to transform iconic models of Pinin’s past into the future, the battery-electric B95 draws from past designs and concepts while moving towards the future of automotive. Pininfarina is aiming for a 2025 delivery date to match the design firm’s 95th anniverary.

“The launch of the PURA Vision design concept then unlocked a new design philosophy for all future models from our brand, across a spectrum of different segments. Now, our new Barchetta shows how these design principles can be applied – with a retro-futuristic vision fusing classic motorsport themes with the latest technological innovations, materials and processes.

“B95 delivers the power of Battista and yet creates a new dimension of driving experience, redefining the very joy of driving. It is the first of a new kind, an object of desire that introduces the thrill of exceptional, electrified performance in stunning open-top form.” –Paolo Dellacha, CEO, Automobili Pininfarina

The Pininfarina B95 is powered by a 120 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that generates 1,400 kW (1,877.5 hp) of output at peak. A carbon-fiber housing protects the liquid-cooled, T-shaped battery pack. The battery can be charged via 270 kW DC fast charging and fill from 20 percent to 80 in 25 minutes.

Four independent motors propel the B95. Pininfarina says the 0-60 mph sprint time is under 2 seconds and the car has a top speed of over 300km/h (186.5 mph).

Only ten of the B95 will be made, each bespoke to the buyer, with a price tag of €4.4M to start.
