Sikorsky Successfully Demonstrates Rotor Blown Wing

Sikorsky has successfully demonstrated a rotor blown wing tail-sitter drone that transitions seamlessly between helicopter and fixed-wing flight modes. This innovation allows the unmanned aerial system (UAS) to take off and land vertically like a helicopter, then transition to efficient, high-speed horizontal flight as an airplane.

The design can be scaled to larger sizes, potentially enhancing future UAS capabilities. It is battery electric in testing and can be scaled to hybrid-electric for larger applications.
