Stellantis Unveils 12 Electrified Vans

...

Stellantis has unveiled a range of electrified, compact commercial vans for its various brands. The twelve vans are renewed and electrified for the Citroen, Fiat Professional, Opel, Peugeot, and Vauxhall brands as part of the company’s Pro One offensive for commercial vehicle penetration.

This second generation of zero-emission vans, in line with customer expectations and offering increased BEV autonomy, additional fuel-cell offer, 18 ADAS, full connectivity, and innovations such as ‘electric Power Take Off’, will reinforce even further our current leadership in BEV vans and in all van segments. –Xavier Peugeot, Senior Vice President, Stellantis Commercial Vehicles Business Unit

This new second-generation battery-electric vehicle propulsion design gives these compact vans a best-in-class range of up to 205 miles (330 km) per charge. Mid-sized BEV vans have batteries sized at 50 or 75 kWh of energy with 224 miles (350 km) of range. Large vans have 110 kWh batteries with best-in-class ranges of up to 261 miles (420 km). Fast charging availability will allow 0-80 percent charge in less than an hour.

Also included are improvements to hydrogen fuel cell options, with a second-generation HFC power plant that will launch mid-2024. This system will allow a segment record 249 miles (400 km) of range. Large vans will have a range of up to 311 miles (500 km) with refill times of about five minutes.

Additional technologies include:

  • Regenerative braking system, activated via steering wheel paddles, taking into account vehicle weight and road dynamics to maximize energy recovery.
  • A heat pump in BEV compact vans optimizes energy usage in cold and winter conditions to maximize vehicle range.

Also available on some models is a 400-volt e-power take off (ePTO) for added functionality and use. The Ram brand in the United States will also see electrified vans and pickup trucks by the end of 2023. Starting with the Ram ProMaster EV in late 2023 and the Ram 1500 REV in late 2024.
