Tesla unveiled the new delivery-ready Cybertruck at its Texas gigafactory to launch the highly-anticipated new electric pickup truck. Three model variants will be offered, with the lowest-priced coming in 2025 at $60,990–more than $30,000 over the base price Tesla claimed when the Cybertruck was first announced.
The first model to deliver will be the Dual-Motor AWD at $79,900. This model features a 340-mile range and 600 horsepower. A massive 7,435 pound-feet of torque translates to 11,000 pounds of towing and a 0-60mph sprint of 4.1 seconds. It maxes Supercharging at 250 kW and weighs in at 6,603 pounds. A “Range Extender” option (added battery pack) ups range to over 470 miles per charge.
The lowest-priced Cybertruck will be the Single Motor RWD, coming in 2025, and will have a 320-mile range and no battery addition or range-extension options. Towing drops to 7,500 pounds. This the a rear-wheel drive only model, with the other two announced being all-wheel drive. There were no power announcements for HP or torque on this model.
The most expensive unit is the Tri-Motor AWD Cyberbeast, which will arrive later in 2024. Its Price tag will near $100,000. Producing 845 HP and 10,296 lb-ft of torque, the Cyberbeast has a 0-60 mph claim of 2.6 seconds and a top speed of 130 mph. Its range is expected to be 320 miles per charge with a Range Extender option for over 440 miles.
Tesla did not clarify, but it would be expected that towing and speed estimates would lower with the Range Extender battery add-on option, as that adds vehicle weight. Other specifications such as range while towing and front and rear headroom, legroom, etc. were also not announced. Deliveries of the Tesla Cybertruck are commencing. Pre-orders covering the first year or more of production are already in.
